Taking shape in Cardiff this four-piece’s debt to the menacing punk-hard-rock approach of such unhinged heroes as The Jesus Lizard and The Bronx is very audible, but Die! Chinuahua Die! are just the shot in the arm you've waited for.
Charmingly titled tracks such as ‘Knife Sex’, ‘Blow Goat’ and ‘Action/Fuck/Action’ might sound a bit crude but their locomotive-paced aggressive garage riffs with Paul Davis’ guttural screams make for a perfect combo.
Don’t expect much in the way of radio-friendly melodies or any regard for musicianship, both of which are exactly the reason why ‘Bitch Songs’ is such an infectious listen.
Unfortunately, at barely twenty-five minutes in duration by the time closing number ‘Brian Maiden’, you’re just about warmed up (with ear-drums at bursting point) and ready for more.
A storming debut.
