Perma-touring Electric Eel Shock are the sort of band who always give a great night in a sweaty club but have yet to make themselves an essential purchase on the record store racks (or the digital store, or however the kids are buying the rock and roll these days). This new collection (translated as ‘Amazing Indeed’) may be the closest they have come to replicating their gigs for enjoyment in the home. The lack of strong vocals will hamper their chances of a commercial breakthrough but EES’s mix of Sabbath and 80’s Stadium rock played at a brisk pace is always going to find an audience and stand out tracks like ‘Out of Control’ and ‘M.T.B.’ will tear the roof off at their gigs. This record is not going to change the world but it sure is fun.
