Having arguably written some of the most brutal music over the last 20 years, Knut are, on the whole, an under-appreciated band. Their discography boasts some of the heaviest single palm-muted riffs in existence and head bang-inducing percussion galore.
However, its come to follow that Knut’s winners are matched equally by their sinners. Alongside those monstrous songs is a lot of filler, sludging guitars that lead to nowhere and tired vocals laid over bland drumming.
It’s been five years since their last release and you may have been be thinking that Knut have used the years to really master and hone their sound, shedding away the dead skin to leave only truly memorable and exciting music, but unfortunately they haven’t quite achieved that. Wonder feels half-arsed, and that is disappointing.
