With the band taking to the road this autumn to celebrate 30 years in the business, it seems only appropriate to revisit one of the most accomplished back catalogues in the business. Whilst, fundamentally, the album does little to add to the ubiquitous ‘Best of OMD’, for a new generation of fans (and anyone who wants ‘Sailing On The Seven Seas’ and ‘Walking On The Milky Way’) this is the perfect introduction to classic eighties pop - with sublime moments including ‘Souvenir’, ‘Talking Loud and Clear’, ‘Tesla Girls’ and ‘Genetic Engineering’ sounding as good as they ever did, cementing their position as one of the few bands of their genre not to have dated terribly.
