Pop-Punk with a Rock tinge? Yeah, they got the memo and followed it rather well
Breaking free from the monotony of the 9-5 is something we all yearn after, so it’s with this that I keep my drink held high for Out of Sight for having a bloody good go on their debut album. The band’s name has been everywhere recently and I swear I’ve had at least ten flyers emblazoned with their logo over recent months, so you can hardly say they’re not doing anything to get away from the zombie state that encapsulates most of the country.
With ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ It seems Out of Sight are exploring the route that has made You Me at Six household names. The songs aren’t quite as memorable but there’s no doubting the promise that is apparent on each and every track. There’s melody and sing-along’s in abundance and the production gives an edgy kick to these summer tunes.
There’s the token ballad, songs about friends, relationships and the aforementioned breaking free. It’s everything that a teenager could want and it’s all wrapped up in a shiny red pop-rock balloon. Where do they go from here? Go harder on album number two and make the balloon fly as high as it possibly can, all the while praying that it doesn’t pop any time soon.
