Reel Big Fish are something of old hands at the punk ska lark. After producing their fifth album in the spring of 2005 it was probably about time that they got around to releasing a live one, and this triple disk outing is certainly something for fans of the band to get excited about, both in quantity and quality.
Despite the large number of bands that are peddling their Third Wave wares, these guys are one of the few who still provide a benchmark for others to follow, and this certainly supports their case. The usual state of affairs is solidly in place. The puerile humour, the catchy hooks, the tight musicianship. However, the benefit of hearing (and seeing thanks to the DVD) the band live is that it exposes their flair for showmanship and capacity to grab their audience.
The banter flows throughout and with more that a decades worth of work to call upon there is a plentiful array on hand here. Some of the more anthemic tracks include Valerie, Where Have You Been? and She Has A Girlfriend Now but most of the best known of the back catalogue is present. There are also some striking covers.
