A cursory listen to The Bronx’s third self-titled album (that’s both their third album and their third self-titled album by the way) confirms that their chosen moniker describes them very well. The Bronx, you see, are well ‘ard. They understand the power of rock to make an impact, and they aren’t going to slow down for love, money or anything else.
It seems that just as you think everything possible with guitars, drums and vocals has been done, another band comes along and demonstrates that we’re not even close to running out of combinations yet. Imagine the best bits of Queens Of The Stone Age, AC/DC, early Soundgarden and Black Flag were rolled into one band, and you’ve got an approximation of The Bronx – a relentless, indestructible rocking machine. You could wire these motherfuckers to the national grid and it would only make them stronger.
Steeped in all the best traditions of straight-ahead, kick-‘em-in-the-balls, fire-at-will rock, The Bronx are here to shake your booty, drink your beer and shag your girlfriends. The strange thing is, they’re so good you’ll let them. Ooh, and a quick one for music download geeks – this will be out three months earlier online than it will in the shops, so if you want to get with the cool kids, get on teh interweb and go clicky-clicky spendyer-money.
