We here at Subba-Cultcha.com have always had a strong link with bands on the up, surviving amongst the underground scene, beginning their careers with so much hope and promise that we can’t just sit by idly and watch them struggle. With our podcast series we’ve been helping bands reach a wider audience (XXXX downloads and counting) and at the end of the day we have some amazing Podcast shows to listen to over and over again. But we were left thinking "If only we could offer them more......." Then BAM! we found some kindred souls, an organisation trying to give new bands the break they deserve 'SOUND 07'. So together we created an amazing opportunity for any of the bands involved in our Podcast series; the band receiving the most votes awaits a slot on SOUND 07 festival’s amazing bill.
Yes, you heard right, whoever wins this vote will find themselves the proud owner of a slot at SOUND 07. The festival cherry picks the best new and up n coming music from around the world, unleashes them across three stages within the wonderful confines of Kingston Lacy House, and gives much needed exposure to some truly great bands. So have a listen to our Podcast’s, decide which band you like the most (or just vote for your mate’s band) and vote for their chance to win this wondrous prize!!!
SOUND 2007 21st July 2007 at Kingston Lacy House, Wimborne, Dorset 10am – 10.30pm. Free buses for ticket holders from Poole & Bournemouth to Wimborne and from Wimborne to the festival site. Ticket information to be announced shortly.
The SOUND Festival 2007 site is around 22 acres and can hold 20,000 people. There will be 56 music acts performing across two main stages, an acoustic marquee, beer tent and fringe marquees. There are 30 fringe performances, involving over 80 artists/performers and there will be several in crowd entertainment performers, arena displays and workshops. There will be a kid’s field filled with workshops, displays and inflatables and the main field will have a climbing wall and a bunjee trampoline as well as many catering stalls, trade stands, a VIP marquee, bands and volunteers hospitality marquee and a beer tent. SOUND 07 involves a core team of 15 plus around 300 volunteers!
Over 200 acts applied for a slot to perform at SOUND 07, from all over the world including most of the UK, Brazil, Paris, Germany, Latvia, Moscow, Africa, Israel and India. Some of our performers are travelling from as far afield as Paris to perform for us on the day!
