SUBBA-CULTCHA.COM SAYS: "Otherworldly alterna-wave pop with a heavy synth presence and the sort of excitable vocals that instantly grab your attention before shaking you by the chops, slapping your tummy and calling you sweetcheeks. Many writers wiser than me are quoting XTC, me personally, I never inhaled so don't know what they mean. It's an infectious slice of pumped up pop precision that makes me think of a less-funky Friendly Fires being swallowed whole by a less-wonky Mae Shi - it's dynamic throughout and will keep your attention all the way to the end! Check the video out below and look out for our forthcoming interview with the band."
Though some may recognise Andy Norton from the John Peel-championed Crimea, 2014 sees him front retro-wave rousing pop group Cursor Major. Written and recorded in Bristol with additional production from Kieron Pepper (Dead Kids / Prodigy) and final mixes from Tim Allen (Bat for Lashes), the forthcoming debut 'Interloper' is a circus of casio keyboards, twisted pop guitar lines and dark humour. Drawing on the studio eccentricity of XTC and early Brian Eno, Cursor Major ultimately invoke the spirit of a jilted T-Rex - adding their own arty new wave touches to create something anthemic yet vehemently experimental. With 'Interloper' announced for release on March 24th, pre-orders are available via Bellicose Records. Cursor Major are: Andy Norton, Benjamin Johnson, Charlie Inshaw and Scott Neilson.
