Emerging Norwegian pop artist MARI is releasing her debut EP, between the lines, a collection of songs reflecting her personal journey from heartbreak to self-empowerment.
With lyrics written entirely by MARI, the record marks a departure from earlier collaborative songwriting and offers a more intimate perspective.
The EP’s themes stem from a formative relationship in her late teens, which MARI has described as both painful and transformative. “When you’re a teenager, a relationship feels like your whole life. The emotions are so strong,” she explains, highlighting the intensity behind the record.
between the lines was primarily produced by her brother, who encouraged her openness, with co-writer Kristine Willassen supporting the creation of a safe and vulnerable space in the studio. The resulting EP delivers a modern pop sound while remaining deeply personal, culminating in the standout track goddess, a celebration of self-worth for MARI and listeners alike.
