Making Temptation Sound Divine

Cruella

Danny Polo

As soon as you press play on Danny Polo's new single, the beat hits, the bass moves and before you realize it, you’ve given in. That's probably because Cruella is more than just a song: it's a slow surrender.

The Colombian-Dominican artist, who recently became Capitol Records US’ first-ever Colombian signing, brings his dual identity to life here, blending the carnal pulse of Jersey Club with the sultry rhythm of Afrobeats. The result is pure chemistry, with a mix that feels both familiar and forbidden.

The tension, between what we’re told to resist and what we can’t help but crave, drives Cruella. It’s in the production, it’s in the delivery, it’s in every sly drop that makes you move before you even think about it.

The track’s music video, directed by Conner Wilson and shot by Ethan Wilson, dives even deeper into that push and pull. Both Danny and Ethan share deeply religious upbringings (both were missionaries, Danny for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Ethan for the Mormons), and their collaboration turns that shared history into art. In just a few days, the video has already surpassed 50,000 views, a clear sign that this song’s power (and its danger!) is spreading fast.

At its core, Cruella is a bit of a coming-of-age moment: the sound of an artist confronting his past, claiming his freedom and finding beauty in what once scared him.

So yes, with this single, Danny Polo will make you groove. But he will also make you question why you wanted to resist in the first place...
