Default User’s debut EP Rotation Demon is a thrilling ride through the darker corners of electronic music.

The New York duo—Aria Noonan and William Lakritz—pull together techno, trance, ambient, and experimental noise with the confidence of artists who’ve spent years absorbing the city’s underground culture. The result feels gritty yet immersive, like wandering through a late-night warehouse party where every room reveals a new sonic world.

Tracks like “Bad Gateway” and “Paradise Planet” immediately establish the EP’s dynamic energy, balancing nostalgic club rhythms with shimmering synth textures. There’s a sense of storytelling embedded in the production, as if each track represents a different stage of a surreal journey—from urban exploration to cosmic revelation.

By the time “Amnesia” closes the project, the listener is left with the impression that Default User have created something more than a dance record. Rotation Demon is adventurous, atmospheric, and refreshingly unpredictable—an impressive debut that hints at even bigger sonic ambitions ahead.
