Leeds band burst onto the scene with “a scuzzed up, hook laden delight of a record” with their Lowtalker EP.

SUBBA-CULTCHA.COM SAYS: “Menace Beach have been gaining enough column inches over the past few months with the eagerly awaited ‘Lowtalker’ EP that you may think they’ve been planning an all-out attack on the nation’s senses for many a year. The group is centred around the talents of Ryan Needham and Liza Violet but their ranks also include members of Hookworms, Sky Larkin and Pulled Apart By Horses. Recent single, and lead track from the EP ‘Fortune Teller’ has been getting all the right kinds of airplay and reviews are coming in thick and fast from indie newsrags nationwide. There’s very good reason for this; the video – directed by Joey Fourr – looks like some bastard offspring of the iTunes visualizer and features several spinning alien heads and the music, a beautiful blend of My Bloody Valentine and Mew. As Needham correctly explains, both the sounds and the visuals create quite the “total sensory overload”. Sample the latest track at the bottom of this article and keep your eyes peeled for our forthcoming interview with them."
Menace-Beach-feat Speaking more about the video, Ryan says “I'm a big fan of Joeys Crumb Cabin stuff so I didn't want to offer up any ideas in terms of direction, I just wanted him to take it wherever he felt. He talked about how woozy and hypnotic the track was and vaguely mentioned doing some 'miniature scenes, simultaneously playing out fortunes'. Check the video below to see exactly what he’s talking about. With the success of the EP under their belts, the band are currently in the studio working on their debut album. They will be coming up for air here and there over the coming months – check the tour dates below and keep up to date with the latest news on their

Facebook page.
