NEW ARTIST OF THE DAY: Little Racer

Old Subbacultcha

Old Subbacultcha

A wondrous mix of Indie pop, surf guitars and a splash of techni-colour from Brooklyn...

SUBBA-CULTCHA.COM SAYS: "A gorgeous, dreamy splash of influences and melodies that are so immersive it feels like a dream after a few moments, and a lovely dream at that. Throwing together the psych-jangle of Stone Roses (there are moments where it gets a little too close to the 'I Wanna Be Adored' hook/bassline), the surf guitar of The Drums and the Coral's devastating ability to really drag out the melancholy within their delicious harmonies. It's a beautiful sound that distils so many emotions in such an accessible way, the band do sound head and shoulders above the current guitar toting competition and definitely a band you should welcome into your lives. Keep an eye out for our forthcoming interview with them, and sample their new track below"
little racer Little Racer is a four-piece from Brooklyn consisting of Elliot Michaud (vocals, guitar), Ish Nazmi (bass), Wade Michael (guitar), and Dave Tedeschi (Drums). Shortly after forming in 2010, their eponymous single Little Racer found it's away across the ocean to the BBC and London imprint Young and Lost Club, who subsequently released the 7" single  The Town/Split for the Coast in late 2011.  After a short visit to London to support the single, they returned to New York to write and record a follow up EP.  With influences ranging from New Order to Cat Stevens, their ringing guitars and choruses will most definitely take you away from it all, even if only for 24 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRzHcODM7Wc&feature=youtu.be http://littleracer.bandcamp.com/ 'Modern Accent' EP Out April 8th Via PaperCup
